Kindergarten: Week 12

Not much happened this week for Hailey.

On this one, Hailey wrote 2 days. It could be about how long to took Christopher Columbus to come to America.

She brought home art work or free handed papers this week.

On this paper they cut out numbers from a magazine. Numbers 1-4 were on the front and numbers 5-8 were on the back. She did great with number 3 but didn't have anything for the other numbers.

She wrote No Horace, Mom and Dad. I wonder if she meant horse instead of horace.

Wednesday Preschool: Indians and Pilgrims

At Jenna's house they talked about Indians and Pilgrims.  When I asked Robert what preschool was about he said "dogs and cats and Indians and Temples.

 They also played on bongos and a small guitar and sang songs. So I asked Robert what songs the sang and he started saying a lot of numbers. I'm guessing they sang 10 Little Indians.

Monday Preschool:Thanksgiving

Shauna taught about Thanksgiving this week. They added feathers to a turkey.

They talked about how to set the table and made a place mat. I would have never thought about that but it makes total sense to talk about setting the table since there is a big feast. Robert loved this and was happy to show off his new skills at dinner.

They also talked about the letter F. Robert didn't trace any of the Fs but wrote some near the frog.

Kindergarten: week 9 & 10

They talked about Stellaluna soon after Halloween. Hailey has this book so she was very excited since she recognized it.

Other than that, nothing big happened. I got a little behind on scanning in her papers, so I combined the two weeks since I didn't know what paper happened on which week.

Here is a copy of the sight words Hailey is working on.  For a couple of weeks, Hailey would bring three sight words home to work on. Then she would pass them off to Mrs. Liz (the teacher's assistant) for a little treat. Hailey learned them quickly at home but kept forgetting to pass them off at school.

Hailey put her name in the cloud. The big red thing is a sloth.

Hailey drew a zebra and started writing her name in bubble letters.

Hailey's school had a little assemble on Veteran's Day. The kids also had the opportunity to have a picture of a Veteran they are related to be put on display in the halls. So, Hailey was able to bring a picture of her Uncle Kyle who is currently serving in the Iowa National Guard. Her great-grandpa, Grandpa Baker, also served in the army.

Preschool: Zoo Animals

Robert had preschool at Jamie's house this week. On Monday, they did these fun worksheets.

On Wednesday, they made a giraffe with finger paint.

Kindergarten: Halloween

For Halloween, Hailey's school had a costume parade that parent's were invited to attend. So, Gramma went with Hailey and took lots of pictures.

This year instead of buying new costumes, we just used our dress up clothes. Even though we have tons of princess dresses, Hailey only wanted to be Belle this year and didn't switch with each event.

They got to take turns standing up and taking about their costume.  Mrs. Thomas was a witch.

There is Ethan, Bruce, Madysen, Lauryn, (don't know her name), Madeline, and Hailey.

I'm not sure of the names of the rest of Hailey's classmates expect for Beau, he is in the red super hero costume. Beau is a first grader and lives next door to us.  After my mom left Hailey started walking to school with Beau and Kiah who lives across the street.

This cute little white and blue costume was homemade.
