After the paper's dried, I cut out the ducks, eggs, and nest so Hailey could play with them. Hailey is talking a lot in this video.

N is for Nest
We haven't done water paints for a long time so I decided to pull them out again.
Hailey painted her N Itsy Bitsy Book.
It looked so fun that I had to do one too.
Then we painted a page from "Primary Helper Vol 2" that has ducks, eggs, and a nest.
This would have been a good page for either ducks or eggs to talk about where ducks come from or what happens to the eggs we don't eat.
Hailey did not want to stop painting. So after she fussed about stopping, we read "Are you my Mother" by P.D Eastman. It had a lot of pictures of the bird's nest so I thought it would be a good one.

E is for Egg
This lesson though quick was a little tough. I thought it would be fun to have her dye hard boiled eggs for the letter E instead of doing activities with elephants (which she would also enjoy but dying eggs is a new/exciting thing for her).
I let Hailey help me drop the eggs in the different cups. We had four cups with red, yellow, green, and blue dye. I made 6 hard boiled eggs but while I was setting up, one rolled on the floor and cracked.
She was so excited by the eggs that I had a hard time distracting her to allow the eggs to sit in the dye. I tried to read her "An Extraordinary Egg" by Leo Lionni but she kept wiggling and I didn't get far into the book.
*Side Note: I got this book one day at the park for free from the book wagon and I really like it. It is about a frog who befriends an alligator while thinking it's a chicken since it can out of an egg.
After Daddy came home for dinner (so Hailey can show him what she did), we peeled the shell off. The more Hailey helped, the less egg white we had. I let her do the blue egg all by herself and only the yolk and a small portion of the egg white was left.
*Side Note: We went to the library today and Hailey fell face first on the sidewalk. That is why her face is scraped up.
