Joy School: Unit 8: Shadow and Foot Print

I tried really hard to do a profile shadow of Hailey. It was not easy to get the right angle and was hard to trace.
Hailey had a hard time keeping her head straight and not looking at what I am doing.
We also did footprints.

Joy School: Unit 8: Hands and Foods

After cutting of all the food pictures I could find from a magazine (next time I'll use an Albertson ad), Hailey picked out which foods are her favorites.
We also did a hand print page for her book.

Joy School: Unit 8: Names

We started this lesson with a hide-and-seek game with our name tags.
Hailey loved finding her name. I think Hailey is so cute with her glasses upside down. When the sun is too bright, she tells us that the sun is biting her.
Then we made two name pages to put into her book.

Chloe thought the activity was cool and wanted to join us.

Preschool: X is for X-ray

Hailey had a great lesson about x-rays with Josie. However, Hailey picked up on the fact that our bodies have bones then the letter X. Oh well, she's learning something. Later that day, I hugged Hailey a little too tight and she told me I was hurting her bones!

Joy School: Unit 8: Unique

In this new unit of the Joy of Individual Confidence and Uniqueness, we started by tracing Hailey. (She's almost 3ft tall)

Then while looking in the mirror, she could draw her facial features.
In this unit, we are going to make a book all about me. The first page we did is a self portrait.
I love how intense and focus Hailey is in coloring her hair yellow.

Preschool: W is for Wind and Waves

The lesson was done by Josie. They talked about wind and waves about Hailey brought home this lovely W.

Joy School: Unit 7b: Trying Wrap-Up

There were two main activities in this lesson. First, we tried our hand at stretching a real object(a bowl of fruit).

It was tough since I know I am not a good artist. But the point was that everyone has a different style and point of view. There is no right or wrong to art as long as you try.
The next activity was about Sally the Spider. Hailey enjoyed reacting this story about helping the spider get to her web.

Preschool: V is for Vase and Volcano

For the letter V, I had a lot planned. First we did a little mini booklet about things that start with the letter V.
Then we turned the V into a vase to hold violets.

And I saved the best for last by making a homemade volcano.
I had the ingredients to make the reaction in little Dixie cups. Each kids had a turn pouring things in. We made the volcano erupt at least 3 times.

Joy School: Unit 7b: Green Eggs

This lesson was centered around Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham. We read the book and Hailey helped make the food.
This is the first time I ever made green eggs before.
Even though we read this fun book and Hailey helped make the food, Hailey will not get eggs.
Then we made a kite and she loved flying it.

Joy School: Unit 7b: Trust and Try

To work more on trying new things, Hailey made a puppet.
Hailey really liked it.

Then Chloe and Hailey played a new game, which is bean bag tossing.

Joy School: Unit 7b: Trying

To start out this new unit about the Joy of Trust and Confidence, we made a poster of the things Hailey does well. On her poster is Set the table, go potty, look at books, and making bed.

The then read "The Little Engine that Could" and made a train all by herself by looking at the example.

Hailey's train is on the left, mine in the middle, and Chloe's on the right.

Then we worked on being good sports with this homemade ring toss. It's just a spirit bottle and cardboard circles.
